Red Hills ("செங்குன்றம்") ("Sengundram") is one of the most densely populated towns in Tamil Nadu. It is situated in Chennai. this name was derived from the red hills (Semman Kuviyal) that was mostly present in this area in early stage. This brought much fame to this place, that is central jail. The celebration for god in Padianallurs Angaala Parameshwari Temple at the month of March and April also brings great fame to this town. And also there special business is paddy and rice selling and buying.It gives a wide range of employment.These business are help to Tamil Nadu to fulfill there requirement.Iyyappan temple in Redhills is famous among Hindus and the CSI church opposite to Iyyappan temple is one of the larger church in the surrounding area. Puzhal aeri, or Puzhal lake, also known as the Red Hills Lake, is located in Ponneri Taluk of Thiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu, South India. It is one of the two rain-fed reservoirs from where water is drawn for supply to Chennai City, the other one being the Chembarambakkam Lake and Porur Lake.The full capacity of the lake is 3,300 million ft³ (93 million m³).
